The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation recently awarded a grant of $4,500 to Safe Families for Children. The organization protects vulnerable children by creating extended family-like support for struggling families. It was launched in 2021 under the guidance of the Community Response Program of Jefferson County Health and Human Services. It relies on a network of volunteers and community resources in both Dodge and Jefferson Counties to help keep families together and safe.
