The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation is proud to partner with the Lake Mills Optimist Club to provide holiday meals through their Adopt-a-Family Program. With rising costs and greater need this year, LMACF awarded a $2,250 grant to help ensure families can enjoy a holiday meal together. The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation (LMACF) has awarded a $12,000 grant to support the Lake Mills Food Pantry’s expansion project, funding the purchase of a commercial refrigerator and a commercial freezer. These additions will enhance food storage capacity and improve the pantry’s ability to serve local residents more efficiently.  Grants like these are provided by LMACF's Endowment Fund and the generous donors who contribute to it. The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation presented a $25,000 check to the Lake Mills Elementary School PTO for the Jenni Nichols Outdoor Learning Center. The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation presented a check for $5,000 for the Jefferson County Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) which provides free one-on-one financial counseling for adults who work or live in Jefferson County. Trained counselors help participants with budgeting, debt management, credit improvement, and long-term goal setting. LMACF has been a proud supporter of the Lake Mills High School Aquaculture Project! LMHS Agriculture Teacher, Luke Wiedenfeld, along with several of his students, welcomed LMACF and other supporters to tour the classroom and project. Through this project, students learn about aquaculture as they raise tilapia, take lab samples and use the fertilizer for growing their own plants. They plan to partner with culinary classes in the future.
