LMACF Donates $1,500 to Jefferson County Christmas Neighbors
The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation has provided a grant to Jefferson County Christmas Neighbors for the seventh year in a row. This year, LMACF donated $1,500 to the program that ensures all local families have access to food, warmth, and gifts each holiday season. LMACF Donates $25,000 for the Jenni Nichols Outdoor Learning Center
The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation presented a $25,000 check to the Lake Mills Elementary School PTO for the Jenni Nichols Outdoor Learning Center. This project will update and expand the current garden space and create a hands-on learning center named in memory of beloved LMES teacher, Jenni Nichols, who passed away last year from cancer. LMACF has committed $25,000 over the next 2 years for Phase 1 of this project which will establish new garden beds, learning areas,


LMACF Provides $5,000 Grant for Lake Mills Club 55 Senior Center
Lake Mills Area Community Foundation provided a $5,000 grant for Lake Mills Club 55 Senior Center to expand their community outreach for seniors and to provide services, particularly around technology. These free weekly technology services are offered as one-on-one and group sessions. Additionally, Club 55 provides a gathering space for social events such as their monthly luncheons, wellness and meditation classes, playing cards, hosting Young and Old Stick Together (YOST) an


LMACF Provides $5,000 Grant for the Jefferson County Financial Empowerment Center
The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation presented a check for $5,000 for the Jefferson County Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) which provides free one-on-one financial counseling for adults who work or live in Jefferson County. Trained counselors help participants with budgeting, debt management, credit improvement, and long-term goal setting. LMACF Provides $1,000 Grant for Young Men's Group
The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation provided a $1,000 grant to the Young Men's Group. This group aims to give middle school students the tools needed in life by providing hands-on learning experiences and by building connections within the community. The group also plans to do service projects within the Lake Mills area.


LMACF Tours LMHS FFA Aquaculture Project
LMACF has been a proud supporter of the Lake Mills High School Aquaculture Project! LMHS Agriculture Teacher, Luke Wiedenfeld, along with several of his students, welcomed LMACF and other supporters to tour the classroom and project. Through this project, students learn about aquaculture as they raise tilapia, take lab samples and use the fertilizer for growing their own plants. They plan to partner with culinary classes in the future.

Grant to Haus of Peace
The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation awarded an $8,000 grant to Haus of Peace, a non-profit organization that empowers homeless and abused women to become more self-sufficient. The funds will be used to provide mental health care for participants. Based in Watertown, they have partnered with the Lake Mills Police Department as well as other area non-profit agencies. Grant to the LMPD
The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation has granted the Lake Mills Police Department $28,000 to help fund two more 360 License plate readers for the Police Department cruisers. These will help track down any vehicles that have been flagged in the DMV system. Safe Families for Children
The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation recently awarded a grant of $4,500 to Safe Families for Children. The organization protects vulnerable children by creating extended family-like support for struggling families. It was launched in 2021 under the guidance of the Community Response Program of Jefferson County Health and Human Services. It relies on a network of volunteers and community resources in both Dodge and Jefferson Counties to help keep families together and safe


Adopt a Family Program
LMACF has awarded a $1,000 donation to the Lake Mills Optimist Club to further expand their Adopt a Family program. Last year they served 36 families and 92 children in the community. This year not only will the program be able to supply food to the families, but much needed winter clothes. Grant Awarded to Christmas Neighbors
The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation recently awarded a grant of $1,000 to Christmas Neighbors. Christmas Neighbors offers two programs, Toy Give-Away and Adopt-A-Family to qualifying residents of Jefferson County.


Dean Sanders Memorial Playground Reconstruction Project
Brian Watson and Pam Rogers, Board members of the Lake Mills Community Foundation, present a check of $10,000 to Rotarians Pam Streich and Mick Selck for the Dean Sanders Memorial playground to be constructed at Bartels Beach. Contributions can still be made to the Lake Mills Rotary Foundation, P.O. Box 103, Lake Mills.


L.D. Fargo Public Library StoryWalk at Wallace Park
The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation awarded a $45,108 grant to the L.D. Fargo Public Library for their StoryWalk at Wallace Park. A Story is told on sign posts spread along path through the wooded area at the park. It is designed for children of all ages. The StoryWalks Grand Opening was Friday, Oct. 1st. Lake Mills Yogo Co-op Covid Grant
The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation awarded a grant to the Lake Mills Yoga Co-op for $2,100. The grant qualified for COVID-19 relief funds as provided by the Foundation. The Co-op is a locally operated non-profit organization that was severely impacted by the pandemic. The funds will support the Co-op's Summer Solstice Program which offers outdoor yoga classes in Commons Park. Donation to the Lake Mills Community Meal
The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation donated to the Lake Mills Community Meal Program that is held the third Wednesday of each month at the EMS Building. Grant to help Solar Project for Jefferson County Humane Socitey
The Humane Society of Jefferson County has approached multiple partners in Jefferson County to help support a Solar Project for the Shelter. As one of the closest communities, Lake Mills area residents have a strong involvement in the HSJC. Members of the volunteer pool and Board of Directors are residents of Lake Mills and benefit by serving our community and animals. Truman K-9 Unit Project
In support of the Lake Mills Police Department Community Funded K-9 Unit Program, a grant was awarded in the amount of $10,000 from the LMACF Endowment Fund. April of 2019. We look forward to meeting Truman, when he is fully trained and serving our community!


Grant to Optimist Club
Lake Mills Area Community Foundation grants $1,000 to Lake Mills Optimist Club for Enhanced First Aid Kits for the Stop The Bleed Program.


EMS granted funds to help pay for new Stryker Powerlift in Ambulance Unit
The EMS is dedicated to the Community of Lake Mills, but needed a little help to purchase a Stryker PowerLift, electric lift stretcher to help patients into the ambulance with hurting not only the patient but the EMT’s. $15,000 was donated from the Lake Mills Area Community Foundation, and $25,000 match from an anonymous donor from the Community!

Aaron Genthe, president of the Lake Mills Area Community Foundation, presents a grant to Thomas (Bud) Skupniewitz, president of the Arts Alliance of Greater Lake Mills. The grant will help with the Souper Bowl Fundraiser with proceeds going to fund the Healthy Snack Program at the Lake Mills Elementary School and for AAGLM Scholarships.
